5×5×5=creativity

5×5×5=creativity is an independent, arts based action research organisation, established in 2000. It involves groups of artist, educators and cultural centres working in partnership to support young people in their exploration and expression of ideas and in doing so helps them develop valuable creative skills for life. 5×5×5 is inspired by the celebrated Reggio Emilia educational approach in Northern Italy that respects children as strong, capable protagonists in their own learning.

THE EGG, THEATRE ROYAL BATH

The egg opened in October 2005, and is one of only five dedicated theatre spaces for children and young people in the UK. It completes a family of theatres at the Theatre Royal Bath which is comprised of the Main House, The Ustinov & the egg.
 The egg’s programme consists of weekly live performances, a vibrant new producing arm, a Theatre School and a comprehensive Creative Learning programme which produces School Without Walls as well as working with schools and young people across the area.

ST ANDREW’S C of E. PRIMARY

St Andrew’s is a medium sized, voluntary aided C of E Primary School close to the centre of Bath. The school population is the most culturally diverse in the local authority with a high percentage of children having English as an additional language.
 St Andrew’s is a fully inclusive school where every child is valued and given the opportunity to achieve their potential and celebrate personal successes. The school is committed to embracing a creative curriculum with children’s interests at its heart. Following two School Without Walls residencies as part of the initial phase of the programme, St Andrew’s has gone on to develop its own style of ‘mini residency’ with every class in the school teaming up with local cultural organisations/sites to explore enquiry led learning.

St Michael’s Junior School

St Michael’s is a C of E Voluntary Controlled Junior school with 166 children on roll, located in Twerton on the western side of Bath. The school is also home to ‘The Lodge’ which is a successful resource base that supports children with specific emotional and behavioural difficulties.
St Michael’s has taken part in 2 School Without Walls residencies as part of the Paul Hamlyn funded part of the programme and remains a partner school of the egg.

Writhlington School

Writhlington School is a secondary school in the Radstock area of Bath and North East Somerset with over 1500 pupils aged 11–18 on roll. The school is a purpose built Business and Enterprise college and was recognised as the best new-build secondary school in the country in 2012 by the British Council for School Environments.
The school takes a progressive approach to learning and has invested in 2 years of work with 5×5×5=creativity in embedding creative processes with year 7 before embarking on a School Without Walls residency in 2014/15.
